Ok...you're planning this great party. It might be a
company picnic, school or church event or maybe a festival. It's going
fairly well, but you're running out of funds. Have you thought of
getting sponsors? One of the best company picnics we've ever been part
of was one where the vendors actually sponsored different items for the
employees. They had one of the nicest parties I've ever seen and it was
a great networking day for everyone. The employees got a better idea of
where their supplies came from, not to mention the great equipment that
the vendors sponsored for the fun that day.
How about your post prom? You've done loads of fundraising, but it's still not quite enough. Why don't you ask local businesses if they'd like to sponsor an inflatable, or wax hands machine, etc. It's a cheap form of advertisement for the business and a great way to stretch your event dollars.
Basically a sponsorship can work for any type of event you have planned. How many times have you run out of $$ before all your plans were made? A few simple phone calls or letters can solve all your budget problems.
There are two easy ways to ask for sponsorships. Write a letter, or just give them a call. A letter is a bit more professional looking unless you have a fairly good relationship with your contact.
But, either way will work, and you'll be amazed at how happy your prospects will be to have their company name as part of your event.
